A great Bordeaux blend named after a great man. Peter Brown was the father of the sibling trio who run All Saints winery today and one of the original Brown Brothers of Milawa. Raise a glass for him and the good company around you, why don’t you?

All Saints Estate harks all the way back to 1864, when two settlers from Scotland started growing vines in North East Victoria. Three siblings, Eliza, Angela and Nick are now the fourth generation to run All Saints. But stuck in the past, these guys ain’t. While they take advantage of the traditional tools at hand, like gentle pressing the harvest in an old school 135-year-old basket press, All Saints’ low intervention approach allows the grapes to grow wild and do their own thing too. Rad meets trad.

"For vintage 2015 we carefully crafted a blend of the traditional Bordeaux varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon (48%), Merlot (35%), Cabernet Franc (17%). Each brings something special to the blend: Cabernet Sauvignon the lovely berry flavours and fine tannins, Cabernet Franc gives lifted floral notes and the Merlot a rich mid-palate. It's a medium bodied wine of deep ruby colour with aromas of cassis, violets and mixed spice. The palate is firm with structural tannins and fine acid balance, ideal for cellaring" - Nick Brown

If you’re cracking your bottle now, try any kind of red meat dish. If you’re keen to keep things authentic, Peter’s pairing of choice was a Porterhouse steak.

JC SCORE: 8/10

Lovely wine. Elegant more than big. Very Euro in style.
