The team at Fox Gordon obviously knew that Italian varietals were going to be the NEXT. BIG. THING. when they planted their Fiano vines in 2007. This Princess is seductive but not weighty (just how Harry likes them) with aromas of white florals and tropical fruit.
The big thing here is the mouth feel and texture with a creamy ripeness and lively intensity. Better than an episode of 'The Crown'.
There's nothing pretentious about this princess. Put it in the fridge and drink it this weekend because this stuff will sell out quicker than a Zara skirt worn by Princess Kate at the polo.
"No longer an emerging variety, we have been making Fiano since 2007 when vines were planted in the cool Mt Lofty Ranges. In the vineyard, a big sprawling canopy creates a full-flavoured wine. Caned pruned, the Fiano spends time on lees (stirred every two weeks) giving a lovely mouth feel and texture while producing subtle layers of honey and toasted hazelnut, finishing with a fresh note of orange zest."
FOOD MATCHING
Pair the Princess with crunchy Asian food, yum cha, sticky pork ribs and san choy bau.
