When is a Sauvignon Blanc not a Sauvignon Blanc? When it's a Fumé Blanc of course! Fumé Blanc (which is still 100% SB, just made in a slightly different style), was a marketing term invented by the Americans when the wine fell out of favour in the 1960s. They did it because they didn't want to be compared to the overly sweet Sav Blanc of the time.
Fox Gordon could be onto something here.... Forget all you know about your typical NZ styles, because you won't find those grassy and passionfruit Sav Blanc flavours here. This is a cool climate cracker fermented with natural yeast giving it an almost creamy complexity and punchy stone fruit flavours that will give your favourite Chardy a run for the money
FROM THE WINEMAKER
The grapes have been hand-picked from the Adelaide Hills vineyard, whole bunch pressed and cold settled.The wine is then wild fermented with natural yeast in large-format French puncheons.
This alluring Sauvignon Blanc has a bouquet of fresh peach and stone fruits, a palate of almonds, nougat and red apples with creamy complexity from the lees stirring.

"This was a collaboration wine in the truest sense. It was our first go at a low alcohol, off-dry wine and we are amazed at the outcome. After being handpicked and whole bunch pressed, the clear juice was fermented at low temperatures before being arrested prior to dryness at which point we had arrived at the perfect balance between natural acidity and sweetness."
Pair with Asian foods and with cheese and fruit platters. Best consumed nice and cold during the summer months. This wine doubles up as a starter and a finisher to a long lazy meal. For something a little different, try adding ice cubes and a couple of mint leaves. Bellissimo!
Excitement levels high are high at Wine Brothers HQ for this wine! This wine oooooozes summer (AKA Hong Kong for 10 months of the year). Sweet, spritzy and loads of fun.
Chances are this wine is not similar to anything you currently drink (hold on, don't stop reading now just yet, just because it's different, it does not make it wrong...).The naturally occurring spritz and sweetness in this Australian white wine are enhanced by the refreshing crisp acidity on the palate. Moscato is a wonderful anytime-in-summer drink and accompanies fresh fruits and desserts very well.
FROM THE WINEMAKER
The spritz and the sweetness are both naturally occurring in this wine. After harvesting, crushing and pressing, the juice ferments. This fermentation is carried out by yeast that consumes the sugar and produces alcohol and carbon dioxide gas. The ferment is then stopped just over half way through, and kept really cold. By doing this, some of the sugar remains, the wine is low in alcohol and lots of carbon dioxide is produced.
Our Rutherglen region Moscato is a cheeky alternative to Sparkling Wine or Champagne as an apperitif, and is the perfect partner to lightly spiced dishes. With wonderful sweet grapey flavour it is best to drink whilst spritzy and young. It is also the perfect partner to light blue cheese styles.

Just starting to look its age, and all the better for it. Musky, Fronti type aromas leap out of the glass, with a hint of aged Riesling character in amongst it all as well. I really like the viscosity of the palate, heaps of texture but there’s a citrus tartness that whips it back into shape just when it feels like it’s about to spread. Can’t imagine this jumps off the shelf, but in fairness it probably should. Should hang in there for a couple more years as well. Nice drink.
Give this wine something with a bit of substance to mix in with. Thinking white fish, maybe chicken.

If this wine were a hat (which it's not), it would be a Chiquita Hat (a Brazilian Fruit Hat). Not to be confused with a Pinot ‘gris’ style wine, this is very clearly a Pinot ‘grigio’ style. Why? Because the fruit was deliberately picked at the lower end of its acceptable range to retain the quintessential crisp, light, fine qualities of both the variety and the region. It’s crisper and drier than your average Gris.

"Our ‘oyster wine’ - or aperitif white. Made entirely from the finest first press fraction, harvested and fermented cool to maintain freshness and lift. The delicacy of the perfume is further enhanced by avoiding oak altogether. BOUQUET & PALATE
Delicate lift of lemon, blossoms, camomile flowers, and fresh cut pears. The importance of flavour can’t be over-stated: with crisp acidity and low alcohol, if the Trickster lacked flavour, it’d be lean and mean. It ain’t! Perfumed blossoms burst into white peach and honeydew on the palate. These are kept in check by a refreshing mineral acidity, dry palate and immaculately clean finish."
Summer dishes and Oysters natural. Anything from the ocean should work a treat.
