Less is absolutely more with this Riesling. Low-yielding vines from the Eden Valley produce some seriously *chef’s kiss* fruit. Apple, melon, lemon and blossom first up, with a bright lengthy palate. Cop that, big dogs. Ready to rock now or will cellar with style ‘til 2028.

Cutting his teeth at Yalumba winery for twenty years, former chief winemaker Simon Sorby Adams has decided to go off piste with his own venture. With intricate knowledge of Barossa and Eden Valley vineyards, there’s few who know how to make a ripper small batch bottle like Simon. Our two cents? Two cool-climate vineyards (with some vines first planted in 1932) plus a black book with the best growers in the Barossa sets Sorby Adams up to make some pretty mesmerising stuff, and they don’t disappoint.


"Our Jellicoe vineyard lies high up in the Eden Valley at around 475 metres above sea level. The low-yielding, 30 year old Riesling vines are planted on the lean, rocky yellow podzolic soils common to the region. The cool climate perfectly accentuates the classic Riesling aromas and flavours that have made the Eden Valley world famous.It is fabulously expressed on the nose showing green rockmelon, Granny Smith apple, lemon peel and blossom aromas, leading to a finely textured palate that is brilliantly focused and linear. The wine offers pristine fruit flavours and bright acidity, leading to superbly long mouth-watering finish. Wonderfully poised for a graceful development. At its best: 2021 to 2029."


Serve up some sizzlin’ BBQ scallops, swirl a bit of old Jellicoe in your glass, tip it back and call it your happy place. King George Whiting would be equally sublime.
