A tropical party on your palate. Guava, elderflower and citrus all RSVP’d. A sauvignon with a seriously velvety texture. It’s dry and deliciously lively. The ideal thirst-quencher when the sunshine has you melting. A doddle to pair with dinner (yes, even your cooking). What’s not to like, we hear you ask. And to that, we answer: nothing.


Less intervention. More paying attention. The guys at Yarra Valley’s Sticks know how to speak our language. Anthony Fikkers sure knows how to make an expressive cool-climate wine, we’ll tell ya that for nothing. We’re talking mime artist on a Parisian street levels of expressive. Sure, their vines might just be ‘sticks in the ground’. But this wine shows what those sticks can do with great talent and care.


The grapes for this wine were machine harvested during the evening, from two vineyards in Yarra Glen and Healesville, and then loaded directly into the press. The cloudy juice was racked within 24 hours and inoculated with selected yeast. Approximately 5% of the wine was fermented in old oak. The combination of cloudy juice and a small barrel fermented portion adds richness and texture to the palate. The wine was then managed on lees for approximately 5 months prior to blending and preparation for bottle.


A simple cheese board with a dry sauvignon blanc like this? You can’t go wrong my friend. So get the stinkiest one you can find (or mild, if you’re a coward). Easiest hosting you’ve ever done.
