Note of excitement from the Wine Brothers
This dinner has been on our radar since we spent the weekend with Nick and his team in Northern Victoria earlier this year (see photos). Small batch passion, uniqueness, independence, old-school tradition meets new-school mentality... Nick and his brand align perfectly with the ethos of Wine Brothers! 1 Winemaker 2 Wine Brothers 3 Reds 4 Courses 5 Wines - Excitement levels could not be higher...
Meet The Maker
After the success of our latest Meet The Maker series, we have decided to turn our attention to Victoria - a lesser known, yet equally exciting and possibly more diverse wine producing state. As we venture away from the safe zone of South Australian reds and start to look at the table wine and world-renowned fortifieds coming out of Northern Victoria, there is not a bigger name in the state than the Brown family. Yet, let's explore beyond the first winery that pops to mind....
Think beyond the name, focus on the people. Independent of the now internationally recognised Brown Brothers, siblings Eliza (CEO), Angela (Sales and Marketing) and Nick (Winemaker) are forging their own story. Under the All Saints name, they have developed a reputation as one of the great small-batch producers in the Rutherglen wine region. They are committed to making quality wines for their wine club and cellar door fans (and they are quite a few of them).
What to expect
A cracking night? Yes. And more. Not only will we explore how Nick and sisters are working to write their own history, we will dig into the motivation and passion that small batch wine production evokes.
We have selected 5 (6 in fact, but that's a surprise) exceptional and fascinating wines to explore. We will take you through the four-course meal with crafted pairings of Nick's table wines.
Fortified's - Go on...
Arguably the most exciting part of the night will be our journey towards the fortified wines. We will be going into depth about what goes into making a great fortified wine and why the Rutherglen region, and All Saints in particular, have attracted global notoriety for their aged Muscat. Ready to compare an 8-year-old Muscat with a museum piece 30+ years old Rare Muscat? We are!
A classic small batch story - A story worth hearing - A story you need to hear.
