Clean and crisp. Fun to say, fun to taste. We love a Sauvignon that’s crisp like a winter’s morning (anywhere that isn’t HK, obviously). And this Mike Press number is fruity with an acidic crunch to boot. Now all we’ve got to do is put on our crisp, white linen attire and we’re all set (until we slosh some red down ourselves, that is).

We love the little guy here at Wine Brothers. Especially when that little guy has some big taste credentials. Adelaide Hills’ Mike Press really gets that whole ‘devil is in the detail’ thing. Despite turning heads at award ceremonies and sneaking five star Halliday reviews, Mike Press is still as hands-on as it gets. As the owners and makers of their single vineyard wine, each and every case sold gets packaged up in the family kitchen.

Our Sauvignon Blanc grapes are picked at exactly the right Baume to ensure that the final wine is clean and crisp, while providing good amounts of fruit aromas. The wine shows a balance of green characters without showing anything overzealous, think green pea and kiwi fruit on the palate to start and lovely acidity and crunch to make the finish clean and savoury.

BBQ’d sardines - good. Greek salad - delicious. The ‘can’t cook won’t cook’ cheese board - absolutely. Pop some goat’s cheese on there why don’t you?

“Mike Press is always value for money, but this wine takes it to another level. It’s crawling with grassy, green pea, citrus and kiwi fruit that take a millisecond to fill the palate, crunchy acidity there to provide an emphatic, cleansing finish. The one caveat is its need for food, the cuisine largely irrelevant, but Chinese/Thai/ Malaysian would always fit the bill.” - James Halliday
