As a horseman, Ashley understood that training and gaining the trust of the horse was the key to success. So too, Bronco Buster reflects the investment and commitment they have made to gain the trust of the discerning wine lover in alternative Australian varieties. The Bronco Buster is full of umami seaweed character that opens with time in the glass to reveal grapefruit, stone fruit and honeyed floral tones.

Ashley Ratcliff (Founder) has a background in Viticulture and has always been passionate about the wine industry. he and and wife purchased their first vineyard in Barmera South Australia with a vision to plant, nurture and make wine from wine varieties that were best suited to Australia's warm and dry climate. Ricca Terra is definitely making a name for themselves in the industry accumulating some of the industries best awards. Their wine has blends that have yet to be seen here at Wine Brothers, so if you are looking for something you have yet to try, Ricca Terra is a sure bet!

FROM THE WINEMAKER

The fruit was hand-harvested the first week of March and immediately brought back to a cool room at 4 deg C before being transported to the winery. Fermentation occurred in stainless steel tanks without any additions and carried out over three weeks’ time. The varieties were co-fermented to highlight each individual characteristic, but Ashley felt ‘harmony’ was the best method for this rather than singing solos. Post fermentation the wine was racked off of the gross lees but kept with the fine lees in tank. The wine aged for five months prior to being bottled without fining or filtration and just with a small addition of sulfur and cold-stabilization.

FOOD PAIRING

We are thinking seafood here! A delicious slow cooked octopus or some mussels sound like perfection
