This one’s a cheeky youngster, no doubt about that. From old guard to new crop, it’s a swift nod to those who’ve gone before with eyes firmly on the future. Only briefly in barrel to best showcase character, this grenache is fresh, uncomplicated and a one way ticket to yum town.

 

As you might’ve guessed, Tomfoolery aren’t averse to messing around. Ben "Chippy" Chipman and Toby "Yappy" Yap take their old-wine-world know how to make new world Barossa Valley drops that pack a whole lot of yum. With each of their handmade wines, Tomfoolery leverages just the right amount of mischief with a low-intervention approach to see where the grape’s potential takes them (and yep, it’s Destination Delicious every time).

FROM THE WINEMAKER

"Young Blood Grenache is inspired by the new wave ‘Vino Joven’ wines of the old world. The fruit is open fermented utilising native yeasts, with 30% whole bunch in the mix. After 7 days maceration post-ferment, the wine is gently basket pressed and racked to stainless vats (50%) and old French oak hogsheads (50%) for 6 months maturation."
