Never judge a book by its cover. That is what they say. Lies, lies and more lies. This cover says 'Dry As A Bone' Rosé - that is exactly what it is, and we love it.  Seeking out Australia's best Rosé is a life-long obsession of ours and we will not stop. Pale pink, aromas of fresh red apple and cherries. Soft in the mid pallet and crisp in the finish. Bang on. This is what we want. Judge this book by the cover, judge this book once you have read it all. Same result - brilliant wine.

Wine smarts have run in the Pfeiffer family for four generations. Great-grandfather Albert worked his South Australia vines in barefoot, father worked with Penfolds for nearly thirty years, including overseeing the Grange vineyards viticulture, before first planting vines in the Barossa Valley in 1994. Now Josh leads the latest generation’s organic approach by dodging out, hilling back on and harvesting the fruit at optimum ripeness during the cool of the night. With solid grounding in the past but a passionate eye on the future, when these guys talk, we’re all ears.

“A blend of 72% Grenache, 18% Mataro and 10% Shiraz, all grown here on our own vineyards using organic and biodynamic practices. Each variety was picked and made separately… The juice was pressed away from the skins within 4hrs of harvest to ensure that the colour of the rose was not too dark. 20% of this wine was fermented in old French oak puncheons (500L barrels) for complexity, while the remainder was fermented in a stainless steel tank to retain freshness. Both components were lees stirred to produce a creamy character in the wine, which also helps to soften the acid and make the mouthfeel more rounded.”
