A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 8% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot with the majority of the fruit coming from the No. 1 block planted in 1969. Your nose won't know what has hit it - Ripe mulberry moving into into vanillin cedar, dried herb, tobacco and spice notes. Medium Bodied on the palette with plenty of ripe red and black currants, mulberry fruit and spice characteristic. You will think you are stood in a vat full of berries! This first class wine will have you coming back for more.


Yarra Yering has been an iconic vineyard at the foot of the Warramate Hills in the Yarra Valley since 1969. Every since the founder Dr. Bailey Carrodus planted the vines in 1969 it has gained an international reputation for quality and individuality. It is frequently named among the top Yarra Valley wineries, Yarra Yering’s proud tradition is being continued to great acclaim by current winemaker Sarah Crowe.

FROM THE WINEMAKER

Fruit power is the first impression, dark berry fruits and some sage adding a background herbal lift. Oak spice is evident but all in balance with the fruit. The palate shows power and restraint at the same time, the iron fist in a velvet glove.
